HOW to buy...
...If you're not sure you can afford it?
YOU LOVE IT; YOU BUY IT?
Sure. In an ideal world, we see things we love and we just get them. We put them in our cart, drive them home. They're ours.
Howevah...
If you're like me—if you don't have fat stacks of cash—you might have to get creative about owning original artwork you love. I'm here to help.
Here's my three point plan for buying art on a budget:
IF YOU LOVE IT, I WANT YOU TO HAVE IT.
1.
DO I LOVE IT? That's the most important question. If you love it, I think you should have it, or something like it. One way or another.
2.
Tell me. Say, "John, I love it." I can't quite click the buy button at the moment, but I love it.
3.
Tell me what your budget is. If you can't buy it one payment, maybe break it up into several payments? (The way we pay for so many other things.) Just ask me. I'll say yes.
4.
If it's still not in the cards, just tell me your budget. Say, "John, I want to own some of your art," and voila. I'll do something just for you. Any budget—I'll do something for you—even if it's a simple drawing.
