I don't recall the exact street in Astoria, but I remember the light bouncing off the car windshields and thinking it was something I might have cropped out of this scene. But I loved how the reflected light mirrored the glow of the ships' light, which mirrored the twilight.
For anyone outside of Astoria, this row of bulk containers is a common sight. These ships are actually waiting their turn at the Port of Portland some eighty miles up the Columbia and Wilammette Rivers. But this being such a broad channel, it serves as the staging area before ships make their final leg, single aisle.
I just love the mood of them.
